Executive Mobility and Cross-Border Operational Coordination in Iraq

Client Challenge

A multinational organization required executive mobility support for senior leadership traveling from Romania, through the United Arab Emirates, to Erbil, Iraq, to conduct a series of high-level government, business, and institutional meetings. The assignment required secure transportation, vetted local service providers, executive travel coordination, airport facilitation, protective support, and the flexibility to manage changing travel requirements within a complex operating environment.  

TGS Response

TGS coordinated the operation from initial planning through mission completion, managing pre-travel logistics, vendor selection, executive travel planning, and on-the-ground operational support. Responsibilities included sourcing and vetting local transportation providers, arranging airport VIP services, coordinating executive movements, evaluating private charter options, and integrating local close-protection resources in both Dubai and Erbil.

As operational requirements evolved, TGS adapted to multiple last-minute changes, including transitioning from planned private aviation to commercial travel, resolving transportation and baggage issues, coordinating executive schedules with host organizations, and continuously assessing security, logistical, and operational risks throughout the mission. Following completion of the assignment, TGS conducted a comprehensive after-action review identifying operational strengths, vulnerabilities, and recommendations to improve future executive travel and journey management programs.  

Outcome

The executive delegation successfully completed its international itinerary, including government, diplomatic, academic, and private-sector engagements, without disruption to the overall mission. Beyond supporting the immediate assignment, TGS delivered actionable recommendations that enhanced future executive travel planning, vendor management, low-profile protective operations, and journey management procedures.
